As a Filipino, we are born to be more connected with our religious beliefs as this was pass on to us by the Spaniards who introduces Christianity in the early 16th century.
Being an Overseas Filipino Worker who are away from our families and friend have the difficulties to find comfort and strength in our daily life. Unlike way back home, we are surrounded with people who are there to support us whenever we are facing trials.
Aside from comforting friends during tough times, we naturally ask for help to the one and only who provides eternal peace and happiness, our Creator and Savior.
We are lucky that we work here in Oman as we are provided places to worship specially Fridays. Unlike in other GCC countries that it is not allowed to do religious activities in public. In Muscat, there are two designated places for worship where in you can find different churches.
Oman recognizes that many expats come from different religious backgrounds and have allowed places of worship to be established in the Sultanate. Here we look at the Churches in Oman and where they are. These churches are places of worship but also cater to marriages and baptisms as the need arises.
One church compound is in Ruwi, the other one is in Ghala.
Below are the list of churches that we know so far.
This Church is a witness to the faith and dedication of expatriate workers who flocked to this country since the early 1900s. A rapid increase in the expatriates made it necessary for bigger Church to be constructed some years later with the generous help of the faithful.
