The Supreme Committee tasked with the mechanism to tackle with the developments of coronavirus held a meeting on Sunday, chaired by Sayyid Hamood bin Faisal Al Busaidi, Minister of Interior in the presence of members of the Committee. The committee took the following five decisions:-
- To stop the entry of Non-Omanis to the Sultanate of Oman through all land and sea border posts and via air except GCC citizens.
- To apply quarantine to all arriving to the Sultanate through all land and sea border posts and via air including Omani citizens.
- Closure of public gardens and parks.
- To stop performing Juma ( Friday) prayers.
- All social gatherings such as weddings are banned.
The decisions shall take effect from Tuesday 17 March 2020.
The Committee urged all to comply with the control measures and instructions.
