The Department of Migrant Workers sees a barrage of calls for help from its One Repatriation Command Center, the agency opened its command center this week to help Overseas Filipino Workers in distress.
Department of Migrant Workers’ Secretary Susan”Toots” Ople says, they have received over 300 call and visits from families appealing for help in bringing their OFW relatives home.
Ople notes, most of these workers are from the Middle East.
“Karamihan sa kanila talaga taga Middle East, at mahigit kalahati ay galing sa mga kababaihan natin, galing sa mga household workers natin. So far, ang pinakamaraming request for repatriation ay galing pa rin sa Saudi Arabia susunod ang Kuwait, tapos Oman, Qatar and then mayroong ding sa Singapore at Taiwan” – Susan Ople
