The Royal Oman Police (ROP) has released a list of institutions which are eligible for conducting eye tests, necessary for getting a new driving licence, as per the new rule.
The Royal Oman Police (ROP), represented by the Directorate General of Traffic, had earlier said that an eye test, which is mandatory for the issuance and renewal of driving licenses can be done at one of the authorized optics shops in all governorates of the Sultanate.
The new rule comes into effect from October 1, 2018. A statement added that the rest of the formalities for the issuance and renewal of new driving licenses will remain same at the respective ROP traffic departments.
