Etihad Airway offers Fly now, Pay later plan

The Airline is the first in the region to offer fully automated online Installment plans after partnering with PayFort, the leading online payment service provider in the Arab world. The initiative is designed to allow families and those on a budget book flights to their dream destination with convenient, payment plans tailored to their requirements.

Eligibility for payment plans depends on the individual bank and plans range from three to 60 months, with 17 participating banks. Full details and the list of banks can be found at etihad.com/installments

To participate in a payment plan, travellers need only select the “Pay by Installment” option, choose their bank they have a credit card with and choose their payment period and terms when making an online payment at etihad.com

Etihad Airways Vice President Digital Strategy and Innovation Justin Warby, said: “Etihad is committed to continually enhancing the travel experience by providing greater choice and flexibility to our guests. We understand travel can be a significant expense, especially for families and those on a tight budget, so this new initiative is a great way for people to book and enjoy their travel without having to worry about paying in one large sum.”

As well as being a convenient payment option for those who want to spread the cost of travel over a period of months, Warby suggests Installment plans are a great way for people who want to experience travelling in premium Business or First Classes, or even in The Residence, to attain that dream.

“When we were designing this product we were really looking at how we can assist those low to medium income travellers and families, but of course, spreading the payment over a period of months is also a great way to indulge in Etihad Airways’ famous premium cabins.”

As of the moment, the offer can be availed of by residents in the UAE, Saudi Arabia and Egypt who book their flights directly through the airline’s website and we hope that it will soon be available for other countries especially here in Oman.
