Expats with new visas allowed to enter Oman

In the wake of rising COVID-19 cases, the Supreme Committee has limited the entry into the country to Omani citizens and resident visa holders starting from April 8.

Expatriates who have already obtained visas until its date are permitted to enter the country, the Royal Oman Police (ROP) clarified on Wednesday.

In a statement issued online, ROP said: “As per the decision of Supreme Committee tasked with tackling developments resulting from coronavirus pandemic decision in regard with restricting entry to the Sultanateonly to Omani citizens and residency holders, Royal Oman Police clarifies, that people are obtained their visa until its date are permitted for entry into the Sultanate , with the need to adhere requirements of concerned authorities.”

However, citizens of 10 countries listed by the Supreme Committee are not allowed to arrive in Oman. These include Sudan, Lebanon, South Africa, Brazil, Nigeria, Tanzania, Ghana, Guinea, Sierra Leone, and Ethiopia.
