Senator Bong Go leads ground-breaking rite of OFW Hospital in Pampanga

Senator Christopher Lawrence “Bong” Go led the roster of officials from the national and regional agencies and the provincial government of Pampanga during the Groundbreaking Ceremony of the first-ever OFW Hospital in the Philippines on February 18, 2020 at the PEO Compound, Sindalan, City of San Fernando, Pampanga.

“Sa ating mga OFW, finally meron na po kayong ospital. Ito po ay joint project ng Provincial Government of Pampanga, PAGCOR at Bloomberry. Para po ito sa mga OFW natin and their families lalo na sa Pampanga”, said Senator Go. He thanked the members and leaders of the Regional OFC Federation of Pampanga and all the OFWs and their families who were present during the event.

Present during the ceremony were officials and representatives of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), Department of Health (DOH), the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration, the Provincial Government of Pampanga (PGP), Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR), Bloomberry Cultural Foundation Inc. (BCFI), and DMCI.

Also in attendance were Sec. Michael Dino of the Office of the Presidential Assistant for the Visayas (OPAV), DOLE Region 3 Employees headed by Regional Director Ma. Zenaida Angara-Campita, OWWA Region 3 Employees headed by OIC Esperanza C. Cobarrubias, Pampanga Board Members, PGP Department Heads, City and Municipal PESO Managers, OFW Family Circle Officers, Pampanga Chief of Hospitals, Provincial Capitol Employees and members of media.

Messages of appreciation and thankfulness filled the air. Pampanga Governor Dennis G. Pineda was grateful to the government agencies and private sectors for their unwavering support in the creation of the OFW Hospital that will benefit the OFWs in Central Luzon. Likewise with OWWA Deputy Administrator Mocha Uson who acknowledged the generosity of the participating agencies in helping build a hospital that will cater to the medical needs of the OFWs and their families.

Bong Go, Governor Delta, and Vice Governor Nanay Pineda led the groundbreaking ceremony together with DOLE Undersecretary Renato L. Ebarle, DA Uson, DA Andrelyn Gregorio, Director Leonila Gorgolan and Region 3 Director Cesar Cassion of DOH, President Donato Almeda and Atty. Mark Ellan Pailan of BCFI, Chairperson Andrea Domingo and Director Rene Concordia of PAGCOR, President and COO Jorge Consunji, Vice President Jesus Cammayo Jr. and Assistant Vice President Aris Cuevas of DCMI.

The OFW Hospital is the first hospital in the Philippines that will cater to the needs of the OFWs and their Families especially those in Pampanga.
