Limited Consular Services for Passport Renewal Only

The Philippine Embassy in Muscat, Oman has released a notice to the public dated July 11, 2020, about the limited consular services for passport renewal only. The notice answers the most ask question of our kababayan who wishes to renew their passport during this pandemic.

NOTICE TO THE PUBLIC Limited Consular Services for Passport Renewal Only

    • The Philippine Embassy will provide limited consular services to the public for safety and health reasons. It will maintain its opening hours to the public from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., Sunday to Thursday.
    • Due to the high number of applicants needing to renew their passports, the Embassy will allow applicants for passport renewal to obtain online appointments starting 12 July 2020 (Sunday). To prioritize those who need this service, passport renewal applicants who have previously requested the Embassy for this service will be given the link to enable them to make the appointments online. This link will be shared to the public at a later time.
    • Also due to the COVID-19 pandemic, passport renewal applicants may also apply for manual extension of the validity of their passports up to one (1) year only. Please be advised that manual extension of the validity of passports is no longer honored by all governments for international travel.
    • Passport applicants may avail of additional consular services within their appointment slot.
    • Passport renewal applicants must not avail of additional consular services on behalf of other applicants as a way to bypass the schedule structure. These other applicants must make their own appointments using the online appointment system.
    • Applicants do not need an appointment to collect their new passports or other consular documents. They may collect their documents at the gate from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., Sunday to Thursday.



REMINDERS

  • Do not come to the Embassy unless you have a confirmed appointment and the required documents for the services you will apply for. The Embassy will not provide printing and photocopying services to the applicants. Applicants who forget to bring the required documents must leave the Embassy and get another appointment through the online appointment system.
  • Only these applicants will be allowed inside the consular premises:
    • Those with consular appointments obtained through the online appointment system. Show the appointment confirmation on your mobile phone or print-out;
    • Those who arrived during the correct period of their appointment. Applicants who arrive too early for their appointment will have to wait outside until their appointment time. Applicants who arrive past the hour of their appointment will have to get a new appointment through the online appointment system;
    • Those with body temperature not higher than 37.5°C;
    • Those wearing appropriate face masks. Failure to have a face mask on hand despite having an appointment are grounds for denial of entry into the consular premises.
  • To maintain safety and social distancing, only one (1) applicant with appointment at a time will be allowed inside the building. The other applicants have to wait in the covered area inside the gate until their turn.
