The Philippine Embassy in Muscat, Oman have released a notice to the public dated May 28, 2020 regarding the limited opening of Consular Section of the Embassy.
The notice reads as follows:
NOTICE TO THE PUBLIC
Limited Opening of the Consular Section of the Philippine Embassy
In view of the announcement by Omani authorities of the lifting of some restrictions related to COVID-19 and the limited opening of government offices and business establishments in Oman, the Philippine Embassy in Oman would like to inform the public of the following:
29 May to 6 June 2020 (Fri-Sat):
- Passport applicants who have received a text message from the Embassy or confirmed that their new passport is already available may call the Embassy from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. to set appointments for claiming their new passports for dates starting 7 June 2020 (Sunday).
- Applicants who have previously applied for other consular documents on or before 2 April 2020 may also call the Embassy from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. to set appointments for claiming the processed documents starting 7 June 2020 (Sunday).
- Only telephone calls will be entertained for setting appointments. Email requests for appointments will not be attended to.
Starting 7 June 2020 (Sunday):
- The Embassy will be open to the public from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
- Do not come to the Embassy unless you have a confirmed appointment.
- Only persons whose names are listed for a particular work hour will be allowed into the consular premises. Applicants who did not request for appointment will not be entertained.
- Persons accompanying the person with appointment, including elderly and children, will not be allowed within Embassy premises.
- Persons with confirmed appointments must have their temperature checked at the consular gate of the Embassy. Those with temperatures above 37.5°C will not be allowed to enter despite their confirmed appointment.
- Every persons with confirmed appointment must bring his or her current passport to obtain his or her new passport.
- All applicants must bring their own face masks. Failure to have a face mask on hand despite having an appointment are grounds for denial of entry into the consular premises.
- Applicants who arrive too early for their appointment will have to wait until the time they are listed for. However, waiting or loitering immediately outside the Embassy premises may call the attention of Omani authorities, especially the Royal Oman Police, who may order them to disperse or leave.
- Applicants who arrive late for their appointment will have to request for a new appointment. However, waiting or loitering immediately outside the Embassy premises may call the attention of Omani authorities, especially the Royal Oman Police, who may order them to disperse or leave.
- To maintain social distancing, only one (1) applicant with appointment at a time will be allowed inside the consular area. Other applicants who have been allowed entry inside the consular gate will have to wait to be called inside the consular area for their turn
- Until further notice, applications for passport renewal, new passports and other consular services will not be entertained during this period.
