List of commercial activities excluded from the ban from May 8 to 15

With the Supreme Committee imposing a complete closure of commercial activities throughout the day from May 8 to 15, the Government Communication Centre (GC) has issued a list of activities that are exempted from the ban.

  • Foodstuff stores include: groceries, bakeries, shops selling Omani sweets, shops selling sweets, shops selling nuts, shops selling ice cream and corn – Juice shops – Shops selling meat, poultry and fish – Shops selling honey and herbs – Dates selling shops – Spice shops – Shops selling mineral water. Shops selling fruits and vegetables. The hypermarket with 30% (foodstuffs portion, selling meat, fruits and vegetables only, with the other parts closed.)
  • Central markets for selling vegetables, fruits and fish with a capacity of 50%.
    – Central slaughterhouses with a capacity of 50%.
    – Gas stations (including tire and vehicle repair inside the stations.
    – express supermarkets with a maximum of 3 customers simultaneously).
    – Fishing boats repair workshops. -selling fishing supplies and health institutions, including.
  • Veterinary centers :
    – pharmacies, and eyeglass shops.
  • Home delivery service : Restaurants, cafes and street vendors are allowed to conduct service without entering customers, with handling and delivery.
  • Any commercial activity not mentioned in the list of excluded activities, its owner is allowed to conduct business inside the store without the entry of customers, while permitting the handling of goods or delivery.
