Mandatory institutional quarantine for passengers arriving in Oman

The Supreme Committee has decided to introduce compulsory institutional health isolation for everyone that is arriving in the Sultanate through various land, sea and air ports at their own expense, due to the lack of commitment of many to home isolate and numerous violations.

In the last few weeks, many violations of home quarantine were reported in the country. On Monday, a person was arrested in Al Buraimi Governorate for escaping the home quarantine. Meanwhile the committee also urged citizens and residents to avoid travelling outside the country unless for extreme necessity.

The Supreme Committee decides to continue to close all land ports of the Sultanate until further notice except for trucks (tracks will be allowed to pass).
All citizens outside the Sultanate who wish to return through land ports are permitted to enter and have 10 days to do so; until 12 AM of Sunday, February 21, 2021. The passage of individuals will not be permitted after that until the land ports are reopened.
Citizens who return via land ports are required to undergo institutional health isolation upon arrival at their own expense, in addition to being subject to other procedures that are imposed on anyone coming to the Sultanate.

All commercial activities in the North Sharqiyah Governorate will be closed from 7 PM to 6 AM starting on the evening of Friday, February 12, 2021, for a period of fourteen days.
Gas stations, health institutions and private pharmacies are excluded from the closure.
Closure of Beaches and parks

The committee decided to close beaches and public parks in all governorates of the Sultanate, starting on Thursday, February 11, 2021, for a period of two weeks.

The committee urges everyone to not hold gatherings of any kind, recommends avoiding families gathering in homes and other private places and to reduce entry to government and private auditor halls.
