Matjar: Shop and Ship Service by Oman Post

It’s blazing 40+ degree Celsius outside and I found myself walking under the sun going to Oman Post to collect a shipment that I purchased online from the United States and to tell you honestly this is the one thing that I hate when it comes to online shopping – collecting your package from the courier. I prefer to do shopping online and have my package deliver to my doorstep. That’s the convenience that I am looking for.

Anyway, how I ended up using Matjar? I have been using shop and ship services from other companies like HopShopGo which is my favorite, MyUs and Aramex SnS and decided to give a shot to Matjar since I have already an account for a long time but I haven’t used it yet.

My personal experience

My package arrived in my US address provided by Matjar on May 31, 2019 and on the same day, I got a notification via email. I immediately requested shipping my package to Oman and boom! Quite days have passed until June 3, 2019 when I received an email stating that my shipment is scheduled to ship on that day.

Three days of no package movement is something a waste of time.

Conclusion

For a package of 1 box that has a weight of 2.6lbs / 1.17934 kilogram and with a declared value of $69.99 – I paid a total amount of 12.147 Omani Rials and when you collect your package from your nearest Oman Post, bear in mind that all transactions are paid only using a debit or credit card.

With the process and cost of bringing goods from US using Matjar are acceptable, the only thing that I don’t like is – you collect your package in you local Oman Post office which a deal breaker for me.

I wish that packages will be delivered to your local address or doorstep.
