Muscat Governorate lockdown extended until May 8, 2020

The Supreme Committee in charge of dealing with COVID-19 held a meeting today, headed by His Excellency Mr. Hammoud bin Faisal Al Busaidi, Minister of the Interior, and in the presence of all its members.

The committee decided:

  1. Extending the closure of the Governorate of Muscat through the control points until 10 AM, Friday, May 8th, 2020.
  2. Ramadan gatherings, such as offering iftar meals in mosques or other places are prohibited and so are sports, cultural and other group activities.
  3. The continued closure of mosques for all prayers including Tarawih prayer; call to prayer will continue per usual.
  4. Emphasizing on everyone to avoid gatherings during the holy month of Ramadan, whatever its type.
