NAIA new terminal assignments will NOT proceed

We have published an article last April about the NAIA to implement new airport terminal assignments for several airlines – https://www.juaninoman.com/naia-terminal-assignments/.

Many of our kababayans are now asking about their flights’ terminal after August 31.  There will be no transfer of airline companies to different terminals of Ninoy Aquino International Airport (Naia) for now.

In a statement on July 30, 2018, the Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA) said the reshuffling of some airline companies’ terminal assignments on Aug. 31 “would not proceed as originally envisioned.”

According to the MIAA, it has deferred the implementation of the Terminal Regularization Program through a letter dated June 5 addressed to Catanduanes Rep. Cesar Sarmiento, chair of the House committee on transportation.

Here is the the content of the advisory released by MIAA:

Contrary to what is now circulating in social media, the August 31, 2018 Terminal transfer of airline WILL NOT PROCEED as originally envisioned. While talks with some airline operators have started and with some signifying their intent to transfer, options that have been discussed are EXPLORATORY in nature.

Discussions gave rise to unforseen operational constraints that require longer time to resolve.

In this regard, the MIAA in its letter dated June 5, 2018, formalized to the Committee Chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Transportation, its request to defer the implementation of the Terminal Rationalization Program. Therefore, no transfer of airlines will occur until further notice.

This is to clarify too that the transfer of certain Philippine Airlines flights to NAIA Terminal 1 is necessary to prepare NAIA Terminal 2 for its rehabilitation which is expected to commence before year-end.

We assure the air riding public that passenger safety, comfort and convenience are always our priority.

For the guidance of everyone, following are Philippine Airlines flights operating at NAIA Terminal 1:

From San Francisco
PR 105 and PR 115 arriving at Terminal 1, NAIA until further notice

From Los Angeles
PR 103 and PR 113 arriving at Terminal 1, NAIA until further notice
