The Embassy of the Republic of the Philippines in the Sultanate of Oman announces that Her Excellency Imelda Macapundag Panolong arrived in Muscat on 16 August 2020 to formally assume her duty as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of the Philippines to the Sultanate of Oman.
Ambassador Panolong previously served as Consul General of the Philippine Consulate General in Jeddah, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (2015-2017). Before her assignment to Oman, she was the Chairperson of the Bids and Awards Committee (BAC) of the Philippine Department of Foreign Affairs.
She previously served as Deputy Chief of Mission and Consul General of the Philippine Embassy in Jakarta (2011-2014); Deputy Consul General of the Philippine Consulate General in Los Angeles, California USA ((2014-2015); Deputy Consul General of the Philippine Consulate General in Toronto, Canada (2006-2009). Ambassador Panolong also served in various capacities at the Philippine Embassy in Islamabad, Pakistan and at the Philippine Embassy in Manama, Bahrain. Ambassador Panolong is the seventh (7th) and the first female Philippine Ambassador in Oman.
Ambassador Panolong obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from the University of the Philippines.
