OFWs in Oman warned against UK jobs offered online

The Embassy of the Republic of the Philippines in the Sultanate of Oman warns Filipinos in Oman to be cautious in dealing with online job orders and employment opportunities in the United Kingdom (UK) for positions such as drivers, gardeners, cleaners, caregivers, nannies and private nurses.

The Philippine Embassy in London has issued an alert against dealing with online job orders and employment opportunities in the UK, particularly for the mentioned job categories, in light of the increasing number of cases of fraudulent overseas recruitment activities reported to them and British law enforcement authorities.

Filipino applicants for employment opportunities in the UK are urged to verify first with the Philippine Overseas Labor Office (POLO) or with the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA) on the legitimacy of the recruitment agency.  Applicants may refer to www.poea.gov.ph for a complete list of valid job orders and accredited recruitment agencies in the UK.
