Omanis to replace expats in 19 job positions at health ministry

In an attempt to increase its 70 per cent Omanisation rate, the Ministry of Health (MoH) has announced plans to hire Omanis to replace expatriates in certain jobs.

In total, there are 19 job positions in which the ministry intends to replace expat workers with Omani employees.

Applicants must be Omanis, display good behaviour, be over 18 years of age, must pass the interview with no less than 70 per cent, and must not be currently working in any military, civil, or security agencies.

The ministry has outlined the level of employment, the academic requirements, conditions, and the location to work from.

Some of the jobs include, mental health technician at the directorate general at the Royal Hospital; three nutritional technicians at health institutions in Muscat; psychotherapy technician at the Royal Hospital; medical physicist, with a Bachelors degree in that specialty; echocardiography technician, with a Bachelors degree in that specialisation. Other positions include, cardiologist technician, heart catheter technician, sleep disorders technician, and sterilisation technician.

Nizwa, Khoula, Ibri, Nahda, Musandam, and Royal Hospital are each included in the location for some of the jobs.

Applicants are given between December 30, 2018 to January 10, 2019 to submit their applications to the department of appointment and transfers at the ministry.

According to the statistics issued by the Ministry of Civil Service, in the first half of 2018 the ministry of health hired 82 per cent of all Omani recruits. Similarly, the ministry hired 98.5 of all expats employed from January to June 2018.
