Philippine Red Cross offers prepaid COVID-19 tests for Returning OFWs

PRC Chairman and CEO Sen. Richard J. Gordon advised last October 18, 2020, that all arriving passengers, especially OFWs and OFs, can pre-book and prepay for their COVID-19 tests directly with the PRC at https://e-cif.redcross.org.ph.

The Philippine Coast Guard will swab arriving passengers and PRC will pick up the swabs for testing, with results in 24-36 hours.

Instead of booking longer stays at hotels, which are filled up again because of the many passengers awaiting test results, PRC now offers prepaid testing for incoming passengers at Php 3,581.75 per test (Php 3,500.00 testing base fee, Php 71.75 payment online transaction fee, and Php 10.00 convenience fee).

The introduction of the prepaid COVID-19 testing by Red Cross comes days after it suspended acceptance of swab specimens for those tests to be charged to PhilHealth, which it said owes it almost a billion in testing fees.
