The Philippine Embassy in Muscat announces that a Philippine government-funded repatriation flight for Filipino nationals in Oman affected by the travel restrictions for travelers to the Philippines is being organized with a departure date in the second or third week of July.
The repatriation flight will strictly be for Filipino nationals in Oman affected by the recent travel restrictions imposed by the Philippine government for travelers to the Philippines, and who have no pending cases/complaints and other impediments for their departure from Oman. The following will be given priority:
- Those with medical conditions and who may need to undergo medical care in the Philippines;
- Those who applied and have been approved for the Oman Ministry of Labor program for the waiver of fines and penalties for the expatriate workforce provided that the departure from Oman is permanent (amnesty);
- Those who have been terminated from their employment; and
- Those who have finished their employment.
To facilitate departure, those who will be on the repatriation flight will need to ensure that the exit permits and/or cancelation of visas, including the payment of any overstay penalties and fines, and other pertinent documents that may be required by Omani immigration authorities or by the airline will be attended to by their respective employers or by themselves, as the case may be. Should you have difficulties complying with this, please include this when you email the Embassy.
The Embassy is currently reviewing the prospective list of passengers based on the requests for assistance on repatriation it received over the past few weeks. For those who wish to be part of the Philippine government-funded repatriation flight and who qualify under the above-cited categories, and have not previously submitted their request for repatriation, or who previously merely manifested, inquired, or expressed their intention by email or WhatsApp without submitting supporting documents, are asked to send their request to the email: polomuscatrepatriation@gmail.com, citing the reason and to attach the following:
- Accomplished Request for Assistance Form (download here) or copy this link and open it in your web browser – https://muscatpe.dfa.gov.ph/images/REQUEST_FOR_ASSISTANCE_FORM.pdf ;
- Copy of Philippine passport;
- Documents to justify request:
a. If due to a medical concern, copy of medical report and other related documents;
b. If part of the MOL waiver program, copy of approval from the website of MOL;
c. If due to termination of employment, copy of termination letter from the employer;
d. If due to an end of contract, copy of contract or notice of end of contract.
The Embassy would like to reiterate its previous announcement that it continues to provide assistance to stranded Filipino nationals who may need travel restriction exemption for their upcoming flights to the Philippines. The Embassy shall transmit their individual requests to the respective Philippine authorities to the Philippine Department of Foreign Affairs provided that these are on meritorious grounds. The Embassy requests the cooperation and understanding of the stranded Filipinos in Oman as the restrictions ordered by the IATF is in the interest of preventing the spread of the deadly virus.
