The Philippine Overseas Employment Administration has issued the Advisory No.: 6-A, regarding the revalidation of expired OEC due to community quarantine, lockdowns, or travel restrictions.
The advisory reads as follows:
Relative to the POEA Advisory No. 06 Series of 2021, for the purpose of deployment, Overseas Employment Certificates (OECs) which expired during the community quarantine in the Philippines, lockdowns or travel restrictions in countries destination and unforeseen flight cancellations due to force majeure, is hereby extended until all the community quarantine/travel restrictions has been lifted.
All concerned parties particularly departing Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) with expired OECs may proceed to the following issuing office of the POEA prior to intended departure:
- Landbase center for the licensed recruitment agency issued OECs
- Seabase center for licensed manning agency issued OECs
- Balik-Manggagawa Procesing division for Balik-Manggagawa (BM) issued OECs
- Regional centers and satellite offices for OECs issued b the said offices; and / or;
- Labor Assistance Center (LAC) at the airports on the date of departure
Further, the following applicable documents shall be presented for evaluation:
- Original copy of expired OEC
- Approved signed employment contract
- Valid and appropriate visa/work permit; and
- Passport (valid at least 6 months from the date of intended departure)
The concerned POEA center/office shall evaluate the worker’s employment documents in compliance with POEA rules and regulations and validate the available records in the POEA system. Upon evaluation and verification, the expired OECs shall be stamped “CLEARED” and deemed revalidated.
