Abroad. Abroad. Abroad. Abroad. What is the first thing that enters your mind pag narinig mo ang salitang ABROAD?

For me, pinakauna is…………….. PERA.

Of course!

it’s the main reason bakit tayo aalis ng bansang Pilipinas. Because we want to earn money so that we can help our loved ones.

Pero as time goes by. Minsan nakakalungkot.

2. Pangalawa, wala akong financial plan. Yung financial plan na written and clear eh wala ako nun. Financial plan na nakasulat at malinaw. Para sana may direksyon ako. But, ang nangyari is once I received my salary kung saan saan napupunta.

At dahil dun eto pinaka masaklap na resulta.

UTANG. Madaming utang.

Ang sakit sa ulo malubog sa utang. Nakaka stress. Madami kang fears when you sleep at night. In short, wala kang peace of mind. Lagi kang kinakabahan na what if ma end of contract ako, saan ako kukuha ng pambayad ko sa mga utang ko?

But one day, I decided to learn more on financial education. I made sure na inaaply ko sya.

1. ILISTA ang utang from lowest to highest and then unahing bayaran ang pina maliit and then progress sa pinakamalaki. It will motivate you para pagpatuloy ang pag settle ng mga utang.

2. SACRIFICE SOMETHING. I know that there will be ways of your spending na pwede maapektuhan. Cut mo yun so that you can save.

3. COMMIT. Pag nasimulan mo ng I knock out lahat ng utang mo, dapat tuloy tuloy na. Make a commitment na kahit anong mangyari babayaran mo isa isa.

4. LEARN new ways of earning. Go for it. Ako, since I am a writer and a nurse researcher, minsan kumikita ako pag nag eedit ng mga research papers.

5. AVOID temptations. Ang daming temptations in terms of expenditure. Iwasang pumunta sa mall para hindi matempt.

6. LEARN to say NO. In terms of gastos, lalo na pag plan mo mag settle ng mga utang mo, learn to say no.

7. FOLLOW your financial plan. From the first step of settling your debts up to the time na hindi kana talaga uutang ay dapat naka plano. Para magkaroon ka ng direction.

8. AVOID CREDIT CARD. Kahit ako, this is my biggest temptation. I’ve messed up many times. Settled and then bumalik sa dati and now I am doing my best to clear out all my debts.

9. SAY NO sa mga bagong utang. Habang binbayaran ang mga utang. Stop muna sa mga bagong utang. You can not overcome it until you stop borrowing money.

10. VISUALIZE and look forward for your freedom. Imagine a life without debts? Buo ang sahod mo and you can definitely save. Maging excited sa araw na yun. When you have that outlook in life, I’m sure kakayanin mong mabayaran lahat ng mga utang mo.

If you do it, papasaan ba’t mababayaran mo din yan. Tiwala lang. I know you can do it.

I know we can do it. Remember, ikaw ay isang OFW. Overseas Filipino Winner.
