Who can avail health services in OFW Hospital?

City of San Fernando, Pampanga — the Philippines’ “unsung modern-day heroes” can now enjoy free and prioritized healthcare at the newly opened OFW hospital.

President Rodrigo Duterte and Labor Secretary Silvestre Bello III personally inspected the site on May 01, Labor Day.

The construction was made possible through the land donation of the provincial government of Pampanga and funding from the Bloomberry Cultural Foundation Inc. of the Razon Group.

President Duterte signed EO 154 on December 2021 to expedite the establishment of the OFW Hospital as well as the creation of the inter-agency committee, composed of the DOH, DOLE, DBM, POEA, OWWA, and two representatives from sea-based and land-based OFWs.

The majority of the hospital’s staff are also former Overseas Filipino Workers.

Who can avail of health services?

Anyone who is a current or previous OFW can avail of the hospital’s services whether they are land-based or sea-based, active/inactive/undocumented at OWWA, regardless of age.

The legal spouse, minor or incapacitated child, parents, or minor sibling of an unmarried OFW are also considered as eligible dependents.

What are the services offered at OFW Hospital?

The hospital will serve as a medical and diagnostic center that can cater general consultation, laboratory and imaging diagnostics, as well as referrals to specialists.

It aims to address health-related concerns of OFWs in a scientific manner in partnership with universities, research institutions, and hospitals or other medical facilities.

Its bed capacity is originally set at 100, but of course, there can always be improvements down the line as funding gets included in the General Appropriations Act.

What are the operating hours of the OFW Hospital?

The Overseas Filipino Hospital at City of San Fernando, Pampanga is open Mondays to Fridays from 8:00 am to 3:00 pm, excluding holidays.

Clients are encouraged to set an appointment via https://bit.ly/OFWHospital_appointment.

The OFW Hospital was opened on May 02, 2022 as a polyclinic, but will soon offer full services later this June upon its official inauguration.
